Fun Family Friends and 1500 miles

Back in the great US of A for a jaunt around California......the last couple of weeks in Peru I'd been thinking about a real bed with soft sheets and fluffy pillows, long hot showers, walking barefoot, drinking water without plastic bottles being involved, visiting family and friends, long drives in our truck, eating Robertos, Mobo, Chill Out Cafe, In and Out., Peets coffee..

And it all came true!

Greg and I stumbled around for the first couple of weeks trying to take in all the stimuli of modern American life. Coming from six months of mellow backpacking life there is a lot of action to get used to in the States - constant action - huge highways, fast cars, reality tv shows, so many choices everywhere on what to wear, what to eat, what to buy. We spent some time in the mountains camping hiking biking climbing that helped the transition from developing to developed world. We were lucky to spend some quality time with friends and family, too! And then we are off again....
